  1. Annabelle – fascinating stuff. Also interesting and relevant to the work we do is the relationship between parental stress, the release of cortisol affecting brain development in young children on a cellular level which actually results in genetic changes that prevent proper development and is then related to significant increase in disease burden. It’s particularly correlated in very young children and single moms (also significantly correlated between kindergarten aged girls and single dads). What that means is that policies (legal and otherwise) that fail to support children and fail to support single parents have a direct impact on the well being of not only the children at issue but generations of children to come.
